DIPLOMA IN ECONOMICS & DIPLOMA IN SOCIAL SCIENCES |
|
INTRODUCTION |
In India, access to the University of London Degree is through the Diploma in Economics or the recently introduced Diploma in Social Sciences. This is a stand alone qualification which enables the students to get an extra qualification at the end of the first year.
Students who successfully complete this qualification study for a further period of two years in order to earn a Bachelors degree of the University of London. The Diploma is equivalent to four Foundation Units of the degrees for external students.
Students who do not have the necessary qualifications to directly embark on a University of London degree may after completing Class XII or ‘A' levels or IB Diploma, enroll for the Diploma.
The Diploma is a qualification in its own right that must be studied by attending an institution which has been given Permission to Teach by LSE.
Russell Square International College has been granted Permission to Teach the Diploma in Economics and the Diploma in Social Science. The Diploma may be taken over a minimum period of one year and provides an opportunity for students to complete a Bachelors degree in a total of three years.
The Diploma has been specially designed by The London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) for students who wish to study externally for the University of London qualifications.
A student once registered for either of the Diploma is not permitted to switch to the other. |
